Summer Dream 2006

The route is pretty well determined now. This trip is supposed to be somewhat un-schedule driven, but the general plan shown here is 6100 miles. Outbound is a few days in St Paul to visit Bill and Barbara (siblings). Then on the the main event, the high school class reunion in Houghton.
The return journey grew to include a vist with my only two aunts and uncles. Catherine, my mom’s sister in MI and Mary, my dad’s sister in CO . Of course since I’m in the neighborhood I have to stop at the mecca of motorcycles, Harley Davidson Milwaukee headquarters. Then several days in the Badlands area of South Dakota. There’s a lot to see there. It’s been years since the last visit.
The detour to Denver to see Mary takes me through Rocky Mountain NP, another place I just love. And there’s beautiful country between there and the Tetons. A couple days in the Teton and Yellowstone area. By then I’ll either be ready to come home or keep on going. And alternate tour of the great Southwest would be an exciting option. But that's a winter type of trip and another story. This journey includes great American natural resources in the form of 8 National Parks and 16 National Monuments.
